Care

Essentials
- Silk is a natural protein fibre. Treat gently: cool hand wash, low heat, shade dry.
- Avoid bleach, enzyme detergents, optical brighteners, and long soaking.

Washing
- Hand wash separately at 30°C with a silk-safe neutral detergent (pH≈6–8).
- Turn inside out; for delicate lingerie use a mesh bag. Close hooks/snaps.
- Do not soak > 5 minutes. Gently agitate; do not rub or wring.
- Rinse thoroughly. Optional final rinse: 1 tbsp white vinegar in 2 L water (patch-test first).
- Avoid enzyme detergents, optical brighteners and chlorine bleach.

Drying
- Press water out with a towel; do not wring.
- Dry flat or hang in the shade; avoid direct sunlight and tumble drying.
- Reshape while damp; keep away from heaters.

Ironing & Steaming
- Steam or iron low (≈110°C) from the reverse side with a pressing cloth.
- Avoid water droplets (may spot silk). Do not spray perfume before ironing.

Storage
- Store clean and fully dry in a breathable pouch; avoid long-term plastic.
- Use padded hangers for slips; fold heavy or bias-cut pieces to prevent stretch.
- Keep away from rough surfaces and sharp jewellery.
- Cedar/lavender sachets are fine—place in a separate pouch, not touching silk.

Stain Guide (Quick)
- Oil/grease: Dust with talc/cornstarch 15–30 min → brush off → dry clean (P).
- Makeup/sunscreen: Dab with diluted neutral detergent; do not rub.
- Wine/coffee/tea: Blot immediately with cold water; do not heat → professional clean.
- Deodorant/perfume: Avoid direct application on fabric; rinse promptly if contacted.

Colour Care
- Dark/bright colours may release dye on first washes—wash separately; avoid soaking; never use chlorine bleach or optical brighteners.

Professional Care
- For structured, multi-fabric or embellished pieces, professional dry clean (P) is recommended.

PRO ADD-ON (Advanced)

1) Water & Detergent Science
- Prefer soft or filtered water; hard water can dull silk. In hard-water areas, finish with a distilled-water rinse or add a small water softener/chelating agent (follow label).
- Use a neutral, silk-safe detergent (pH≈6–8); avoid enzyme detergents (protease).
- Avoid optical brighteners and chlorine bleach; oxygen bleach may still fade dyes—avoid bleaches entirely.
- Optional acidic final rinse: 1 tbsp white vinegar in 2 L water; patch-test; avoid on metal-trimmed garments.

2) If You Must Machine-Wash
- Program: Delicates/Hand-wash 20–30°C, short cycle, 400–600 rpm max spin.
- Turn inside out; each piece in a mesh bag; ≤50% drum load.
- Silk-safe detergent only; no softener, no bleach.
- Remove immediately; towel-press and shade-dry. Machine-washing may void finishes—prefer hand wash.

3) Stain Encyclopedia (Detailed)
- Blood (fresh): Cold water only; avoid hot water. Dab neutral detergent; professional clean if needed.
- Sweat/yellowing: Pre-treat with neutral detergent; short wash; avoid aluminium-salt deodorants contacting silk.
- Sunscreen/makeup (oily): Lightly dab with mild dish soap (surfactant), then hand wash; do not rub.
- Wine/coffee/tea (tannins): Cold-water blot; no heat → professional clean.
- Oil/grease: Talc/cornstarch 15–30 min → brush off → dry clean (P).
- Ink/marker: Test on seam; inks migrate—professional cleaning recommended.
- Mud/clay: Let dry → brush off solids → cool hand wash.
- Rule of thumb: Blot, don’t rub; test on a hidden area first.

4) Wrinkles & Water Spots
- Steam from 10–15 cm away, keep head moving; avoid drips.
- For water rings, lightly re-dampen the whole panel and press from reverse with a pressing cloth at ≈110°C to even out.
- Never place a hot iron directly on silk face.

5) Storage & Long-term Care
- Air after wear for 2–3 hours before storing.
- Keep humidity 45–55%; use silica gel in a separate pouch.
- Padded hangers for slips; fold heavy/embellished pieces.
- Cedar/lavender sachets in separate pouches; avoid direct contact with silk.
- Avoid prolonged sunlight/UV exposure.

6) Strict Don’ts
No bleach (chlorine or oxygen), no enzyme detergents, no fabric softener, no optical brighteners, no long soaking, no wringing, no tumble dry, no perfume directly on silk.

7) Quick Rescue Flow
1) Blot → 2) Cold-water test → 3) Neutral-detergent dab → 4) Rinse & shade-dry → 5) If in doubt, professional dry clean (P).
